The view north, down Weymouth Street, Warminster,
towards the town centre during the 1930s.
The brick pillars and iron gate to the field above the
Lake Pleasure Grounds can be seen to the left of the
lamppost in the foreground.
Horse and cart on the left; a motor car in the distance.

The house in the lower right corner of the picture
is the park keeper’s house in the Lake Pleasure Grounds.
In front of it can be seen the ‘stable doors’ of the
changing rooms at the northern end of the
open-air swimming pool in the Lake Pleasure Grounds.
The centre of the top part of the picture
is dominated by the massive chestnut tree
that stood adjacent the forge of
Uriah White and his son Norman,
who ran a successful horse-shoeing
and metalworking business.
