A St. Valentine’s Day Dance, held in the Village Hall, Maiden Bradley, on Tuesday 14 February 1933, proved highly successful, raising money for the school repair fund.
A large number of people attended and danced to the music of Joe Till and his Melody Makers from Westbury.
The Duke and Duchess of Somerset judged competitions for the waltz and the polka. The prizewinners were: Waltz: Miss Elliott and Mr. Counter. Polka: Miss Day and Mr. Smith.
The event was organised by Mr. J. Cleal, who was also Master of Ceremonies for the event.
