Victor Strode Manley, in Volume 10 of his Regional Survey of the Warminster District, compiled in the 1920s and 1930s, includes the following:
THE OLDFIELDS GHOST
The Buries (Bury House), Bishopstrow.
There is a lane on the east side of the Buries, itself the site of a Roman villa. A ghost, which I have not yet heard described, haunts the lane.
