MISCELLANEA

One of the most famous of the Regicides, Edmund Ludlow, who later wrote the famous “Memoirs,” and died at Vevey in Switzerland, was a local leader.

Gas is supplied by the Warminster Gas Co. at 1s. 1d. per therm for Lighting and Heating at normal times.

Electricity is supplied by a private Company at 1s. per unit for Lighting and Heating, and 1 and a half d. to 4 and a half d. per unit for Power.

Post Office deliveries, three daily.

Hospital at the corner of The Close and Portway.

Early Closing Day, Wednesday.
