The Obelisk at the junction of the Bath and Frome roads marks the site of old Emwell Cross. Emwell Hotel is situated here, a select private hotel affording excellent accommodation, conveniently placed for golfers and visitors to Longleat. This part of the town is scholastic, including, among others, Lord Weymouth’s Grammar School, St. Monica’s (for girls) and St. Boniface Missionary College, with the Minster near by.
