The Warminster And West Wilts Herald, Saturday 9th January 1892, reported:
A Family Affair. – Mark Ferris, of Warminster, was summoned by his mother-in-law, Sarah Ferris, for assaulting her on December 19th. Complainant said that she went to the defendant’s house about a baby, and a quarrel ensued, and the defendant knocked her down and kicked her. Defendant said that his mother-in-law would not leave the house when he wanted her to. The Bench advised Mrs Ferris not to go to the defendant’s house, and they dismissed the case. The eloquence of the complainant and of the defendant was well matched in force and extent.
