The Weight Of Hens’ Eggs

From The Warminster Herald, Saturday 1 April 1882:

A few days ago Mr. Atkins, landlord of the King’s Arms, Warminster, purchased 18 eggs for 1s., and having weighed them, found they amounted to 2 lbs. 2 ozs. He then weighed the same number laid by some of his own fowls, and found that the second eighteen amounted to no less than 3 lbs. and half an ounce.
