From The Warminster Herald, Saturday 28 July 1877:
Mr. Ling, of the Royal Oak, Horningsham, is the owner of four ducks (the true Aylesbury breed), and which since the 16th February last have laid no less than 451 eggs, 442 of which have been sold for £2 11s., or each sitting of 13 eggs at 1s. 6d. These ducks discontinued laying their (most extraordinary) first loiter on the 18th instant, but their owner is fully of opinion that another loiter will very shortly commence.
