The Mission House, Warminster

From The Warminster Parish Magazine, October 1869:

Mission-House. In consequence of the Church Congress being held at Liverpool during the preceding week, and some of our friends being likely to attend it, the annual Commemoration of the foundation of this institution will be held on Tuesday, the 12th instant, instead of the 5th.

There will be (D.V.) a celebration of the Holy Communion in the Chapel of S. Laurence, at eight o’clock in the morning, and matins and a sermon in the Church of S. John, Boreham Road, at 11.30 o’clock. There will be collections at both of the services, two-thirds of which will be given to the Mission-House and one-third to the Zulu Mission.

Those who attend the celebration are requested specially to ask for God’s blessing on the work of the Missions, and in particular the work of the Mission-House. The Te Deum should also be joined in with especial reference to the blessing which we believe God has already granted to it. We hope many will attend the services.

The £2 asked for the purchase of Psalters, in the last Magazine, were quickly given us by a kind friend in the town.
