From The Warminster Parish Magazine And Church Register, April 1867:
At a numerously-attended Vestry, on Monday, the twenty-fifth [March 1867], the Vicar in the chair, a new Highway Board was appointed, consisting of twenty members. The following eight gentlemen were nominated as Guardians, a show of hands being taken for each. – Messrs. W. Morgan, H.P. Jones, J. Scott, T. Sly, J. Doel, W.H. Carson, W. Pullin, and G.M. White, sen. – A requisition was signed by many in the room, to Mr. Churchwarden Scott, requesting him to convey a meeting for the purpose of taking into consideration the expediency of adopting the Local Government Act. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. James Lush on his retiring from the office of Guardian, &c., for the zeal and faithfulness with which he had for many years filled various parochial offices.
