Formation Of Young Men’s Christian Association

The Warminster Miscellany, 1 October 1862, reported:

Young Men’s Christian Association. – A society of young men has been formed in this town upon the principle which has been found so successful in the metropolitan society of this designation.

They have secured a commodious room near the chapel of Saint Lawrence, which was opened on Monday evening last; and the Rev. Dr. Hamilton of London, so well known by his highly popular publications, will deliver an inaugural lecture to the members, at the Athenaeum Hall this evening.

We should refer any of our readers who may desire further information to the Secretaries, Mr. Llewellyn and Mr. Dowding.
