What we know today [2025] as Pitmead Lane, Bishopstrow (the narrow road connecting the junction of the village street and Church Lane, with the Dairy House, Cobbett Rise and Watery Lane) was called Barber’s Lane when the 1861 Census was taken (on the night of Sunday 7th April 1861).
