Supposed Infanticide – Lydia Macey Committed For Trial

From The Warminster Herald, Saturday 21st January 1860:

Supposed Infanticide. – The body of a new born infant was found in a well on the down between Battlesbury and Scratchbury, on the 14th inst. An inquest was held on the body before G. Sylvester, Esq., and on the 18th inst. a single woman of Boreham, named Lydia Macey, was fully committed for trial at the Spring Assizes for the offence.
