About Danny Howell

Danny Howell is a writer, poet, publisher, photographer, and amateur film maker, born in Warminster, Wiltshire, UK, where he still lives and works, researching and recording all aspects of his home town and the surrounding area, including the Wylye Valley and the south-western escarpment of Salisbury Plain.

His books, mostly specialising on local history in and around Warminster, have proved extremely popular and include the Remember Warminster series (5 volumes so far) and the Warminster Wylye Valley And District Recorder (12 volumes). Over forty titles have been published since 1985. His publishing imprint Bedeguar Books has local history as its speciality but other genres including biographies and poetry have been considered.

In 1993 Danny Howell received the Citizen Of Warminster award for not only promoting his home town on television, radio and in the press, but also for his fundraising charity work. In the past he has played a major role in many of Warminster’s organisations, including Warminster Dewey Museum, the Warminster Civic Trust, and the Warminster Preservation Trust, as well as serving in practical ways for several groups, including the Warminster History Society, the Promotion Of Warminster Committee, Warminster Carnival, and the Warminster And Wylye Valley Society For Local Study. Â
